The teaser of ‘Ramayana’ starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama has been trending on social media ever since its release. While his divine look has been widely praised, the film’s visuals have also sparked controversy, with some viewers questioning the VFX and even speculating about the use of AI.One particular moment in the teaser quickly gained attention online. In this scene, Rama walks through Ayodhya while people shower him with flowers. However, astute observers noticed that when the camera angle changed, the color of the actor’s turban in the background appeared to change from blue to purple. The clip quickly went viral, with many pointing to it as potential evidence of an AI-generated image.

Responding to the speculation, actor Saket Patel, who is appearing in the scene, clarified the situation on social media. “I’m Saket Patel. I’m an actor. Trust me, I’m not an AI,” he said in a video message, revealing that the scene was shot on a real set with real actors. He added, “People are completely convinced that I was generated by AI. I shot this film two years ago in front of a real crowd, a real set, a real me, and a real Ranbir Kapoor.He also revealed that the scene was filmed almost two years ago and added his candid thoughts on today’s audience reaction. “In 2026, if it looks too good, people will say it’s fake,” he said.As the conversation continued, Hrithik Roshan spoke out in support of the film and its makers. In a note shared online, he praised filmmakers for pushing the boundaries of cinema, citing projects like ‘Ramayana’, ‘Kalki’ and ‘Baahubali’. He urged viewers to be more accepting of different visual styles and suggested that what some might call “bad VFX” could simply be an unfamiliar aesthetic.He also encouraged viewers to focus on the intent behind the storytelling, rather than just evaluating how realistic the visuals look.With a huge budget of Rs 4,000 crore, Ramayana is one of the most ambitious Indian films ever made. The cast also includes Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman.Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the first part of the film is scheduled to release in October 2026, while the second part will follow in 2027.
