Openai plans to launch an Ai-Only Tiktok clone

AI Video & Visuals

Wired learned from its sources that Openai is aiming to enter the short video market, competing with platforms such as Tiktok, Instagram reels and YouTube shorts. However, there is one important difference between the products of ChatGPT manufacturers and others. It allows AI-generated content only and can effectively remove most effort from content creation. However, this is the perfect gig for prompt engineers.

Initially, the platform utilizes Openai's SORA 2 video generation model, limiting each clip to 10 seconds. Users can upload portraits to the app via ID verification tools. There are Core Tiktok/Reels components such as Remix that allow users to modify content created by others.

Apps can also generate copyrighted content. The copyright holder must opt out and keep out of the way to prevent the material from reaching the app. Initially, this proves to be a nightmare for creators and organizations as well, as there is a lot of confusion about which materials are permitted.

The AI-Only model allows Openai to fine-tune future versions of SORA. Furthermore, the content will not leave the app, effectively eliminating the need for Capcut, one of Baitedan's popular products. It remains to be seen whether it will have a meaningful impact on the already saturated short video market.

Openai has not yet officially commented on the issue, so it should not take long for that to happen as the cat is out of the bag. Given the enormous amount of calculations required to generate AI video, Openai could employ attractive-only models to build hype and limit apps to a small number of markets.
