DUBAI, April 12, 2023 (WAM) — The magnificent Dubai Museum of the Future will host Machines Can See, an annual international summit exploring the future of computer vision and machine learning.

Scheduled for 2nd May 2023, the event, supported by the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, Remote Work and Applications and the Ministry of Economy and Tourism of Dubai, is a world-renowned conference on artificial intelligence (AI) and business. The goal is to bring together experts. Also in attendance will be representatives from the MENA investment scene and technology enthusiasts.

Participation is free and delegates can attend online or in person at the ‘Machines San See’ summit at the Dubai Museum of the Future.

Speakers at this year’s summit include Professor Serge Belongy from the University of Copenhagen. Daniel Cremers, Professor at the Technical University of Munich, Director and Co-Founder of Artisense. Fernando de la Torre, professor at Carnegie Mellon University. Bernard S. Ghanem, King Professor of His Abdullah University of Science and Technology. He is Hao Li, Associate Professor at Mohammed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence and co-founder and CEO of Pinscreen. Mr. Manohar Paluri, senior his director at Meta. Marc Pollefeys, Professor at ETH Zurich and Director of the Microsoft Mixed Reality and AI Lab. Philip Torr, Professor at the University of Oxford, co-founder of Aistetic, Oxsight, Chief of FiveAI and his scientist.

Dedicated to the regional development of AI technologies in the Middle East and around the world, a panel session titled “Artificial Intelligence: What’s Next” will bring together government officials from Middle East and North Africa (MENA) countries to discuss future industry challenges , and the prospects for implementing computer vision technologies at the state level.

“Over the past few years, the summit has brought together world experts in the fields of artificial intelligence and computer vision, accumulating impressive experience in the creation and development of the international community.This year, the summit will be held in Dubai. We are pleased to help make an important contribution to the implementation of the Artificial Intelligence strategy in the United Arab Emirates,” said Alexander Kanin, Founder of the Machines Can See Summit.

The event will host the Visual Product Recognition Challenge, an international online competition in image-based product search. The task is to create a descriptive algorithm to distinguish different types of objects depicted in photographs.

Winners will receive a cash prize of US$15,000 and the opportunity to present their solutions at the Summit Awards Ceremony. Reception is until April 16th.

The summit was hosted by Polynome Events and supported by government and academic institutions such as the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications.
