Meta plans to enable code candidates to use AI assistants during interviews, 404 media reports. The publication claims that Facebook parents saw an internal memo from the company that told existing employees to volunteer for “mock AI-enabled interviews.” According to a recent internal post entitled “AI-enabled interviews – Calls for mock candidates,” the company tested this updated format to better reflect the actual work situation. “Meta is developing a new type of coding interview that allows candidates to access AI assistants, which is more representative of the developer environment that future employees are working on, making LLM-based fraud more effective,” the post said.“We need mock candidates,” the post continued, “If you would like to experience a mock AI-enabled interview, please sign up with this sheet. Meta confirms that they are testing AI-enabled interviews
Checking for the update, a Meta spokesman told 404 media: “Because our focus is on using AI to help engineers with their day to day work, it's not surprising to test how we can provide applicants with these tools during interviews.”Previously, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Joe Rogan's podcast meta, said he foresaw the person who manages the “AI coding agents” who writes the company's code. “This year, maybe 2025, we're basically in the meta, like any other company that's working on this, but I think there's an AI that can effectively become a mid-level engineer in a company that can write code,” Zuckerberg said in January. “As time goes by, there's a lot of code in the app, and including the AI we generate, is actually built by AI engineers, not people's engineers.
