Radio station software provider Aiir Inc. has announced the acquisition of RadioNewsAI, known for its generative AI technology that creates artificial news anchors for audio broadcasts. The move marks Aiir's first step into the generative AI field.

Founded by Stefan de Groot, RadioNewsAI provides automated content services including news, sports, weather, events, and traffic information. The company targets broadcasters who may lack the resources to produce these segments in a traditional way.

Aiir CEO Ricki Lee expressed her enthusiasm about the acquisition: “Aiir's mission is to help our customers 'create radio'. Radio News AI aligns perfectly with our mission statement. This acquisition marks Aiir's first foray into the AI space, and I can't wait to share our growth plans for the product with you in the coming months.”

In May, Aiir partnered with Zeno Media to expand its existing services by introducing a streaming platform, which also provides the PlayoutONE automation system, remote broadcasting capabilities and a range of cloud-based platforms.

De Groot added, “We couldn't think of a better person to acquire RadioNewsAI than our new friends at Aiir. Many of our users already use their software and we're confident they will take the platform and all its potential to the next level.”
