AI video of deli owner refusing service to ICE agents goes viral, dividing internet – 'We're all doomed'

AI Video & Visuals

Recently, an AI-generated video of an angry deli owner refusing to respond to ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) officers went viral on social media.

Video shared by X user @/@Roshan_Rinaldi shows an irate store owner asking police to remove him from the venue, shouting, “You don't belong here. Get out of my store!”

He added: “You come here wearing a mask, scaring all my customers and causing trouble in name only…Get out!”

“Sir, we have the authority to…” one of the agents answered. The deli owner remained unfazed and continued to call out to the officers.

“Authority?” “You have no courage, that's what you get! You coward hiding behind a little mask,” he asked.

The video quickly gained traction on social media, racking up around 2.9 million views on X, but it was soon discovered that it was generated by AI.

Not only did some users point out that the video was fake, but others also noticed that the logo on the officials' clothing said “PICE” instead of “ICE.”

The clip was also flagged in a community note on social media platforms. “This is an AI-generated video and not a real event. The agent's badge is misspelled ('PICEF' instead of 'ICE'). “This is an AI error commonly seen in similar fake videos,” the memo said.

This video divided the opinions of netizens. Some continue to criticize U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and praise the store owners' actions, while others criticize their use of AI to generate fake content.

“Kudos to the shopkeeper!!!” one person wrote. “Yes, please do that. You have the right to kick them out!” another person commented.

“More and more people are full of this type of energy. We will not bend the knee to a masked thug,” said a third commenter.

However, one user pointed out, “This is AI and we are all doomed.”

Another said, “It's important to stay vigilant and continue to fight back against ICE, but it's also important to stop using AI and stop pushing the AI slop because this video is clearly AI.”

A third added: “The entire timeline is an account of people getting fooled by fake videos promoting ICE. We're too stupid for the AI-driven world we're entering.”

The AI video went viral amid protests against Immigration and Customs Enforcement following the shooting death of Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old mother of three.

On the morning of January 7, 2026, Good and his partner Rebecca encountered an agent, now identified as Jonathan Ross, in Minneapolis.

After an initial verbal exchange, the officer instructed Good to exit the Honda SUV. However, the woman did not respond and attempted to leave the scene in her car.

The footage showed the woman putting her car in reverse, taking several steps toward the agent, then firing three shots at her through the windshield. Good was pronounced dead from gunshot wounds, sparking widespread outrage across the United States.

Several Democrats, especially Democrats, condemned the incident, but the Trump administration defended the shooting, saying the operatives acted in “self-defense.” The FBI is currently investigating the incident.
