Creating AI videos for everyone

AI Video & Visuals

This weekend, Google will open the door to Veo 3, the most advanced AI-powered video platform, completely free of charge. The surprise announcement came from CEO Sundar Pichai. SundarPichai encouraged users to explore the creative possibilities of the tool without worrying about subscription barriers. For anyone who has ever dreamed of creating professional quality videos without a camera crew or studio, this is a rare opportunity.

First unveiled at Google I/O 2025, the VEO 3 is rapidly gaining global attention as the most sophisticated video model to date. Unlike other video tools, it produces fully synchronized audio with visuals, from dialogue and background music to footprints and ambient soundscapes. Google sells the VEO 3 to the market as a “Creative Swiss Army Knife.” This is suitable for creating animated shorts, movie sequences, storyboards, or game cutscenes. It currently works with text prompts, but image-based prompts will soon be expected, further expanding their versatility.

VEO 3 is usually restricted to subscribers of Google's AI Pro plan with the Gemini app that costs Rs 1,999 a month in India. New subscribers will have access to a one-month free trial, but this weekend it is the first time Google has exempted its restrictions for all users. According to Pichai, the purpose is clear. “It's about opening creative opportunities for a wider audience.” Beyond the creative mission, this move also serves as smart marketing. By enabling users to experience Veo 3 firsthand, Google hopes that the quality and potential of the platform speaks for itself.

For Indian users, Google is rolling out Veo 3 Fast. This is an optimized version designed for faster video generation. Accessible through the Google Gemini apps on both Android and iOS, authors can easily experiment with AI-generated videos wherever they are.

Three key features make the VEO 3 stand out among existing AI video tools: First, it produces synchronized sounds, generates music, dialogue, effects, and spends time completely with visuals. Second, it offers movie quality output with rich textures, advanced lighting and detailed images. Third, from waving water to natural shadows, realistic physics are applied to animations to ensure that the video feels fluid and realistic rather than artificial.

With free access this weekend, Google encourages users to not only explore VEO 3 features, but also provide feedback. This will help shape future updates. Pichai described the initiative as part of Google's continued commitment to expanding its creative tools, highlighting the importance of user input to development.

VEO 3 offers a unique opportunity for anyone who wanted to direct their own short films without a camera, a crew, or a budget. As Google points out, VEO 3 is designed to “convert the way users create and share media,” ensuring high-quality AI video production is accessible to more audiences than ever before.
