Zoom announced the release of its Photorealistic AI avatar, which will be featured on the service in December 2025. Users will be able to join video calls even if they are not ready to turn on the camera.
To create an avatar, take a photo with the application or upload a photo. After generating images, you can “dress up” various professional outfits. During a call, the system tracks owner movements and facial expressions and syncs in real time with the virtual display.
Zoom promises a safeguard. The live camera authentication feature checks whether the faces in the camera match the uploaded photo and flags appear in the window of participants where AI is being used. According to Chief Product Officer Smita Hashim, these processes can change before release.

This update also brings live translation capabilities. The algorithm broadcasts speaker speeches in nine languages, including English, German, Chinese, French, Spanish, Arabic, Japanese, Portuguese and Italian.
At the same time, the company is expanding its AI companion capabilities. Assistants can take on tasks to participate in offline meetings and sessions with Microsoft teams, meet on Google, take notes, create tasks, schedule meetings and create meetings.
Therefore, Zoom has consistently approached CEO Eric Ewan's vision. Eric Ewan talked about a future in which “digital clones” perform some everyday tasks on behalf of people a year ago.
