Reactions of Internet users

The incident sparked outrage among Alia Bhatt's fans and raised concerns about the misuse of digital manipulation technology. One fan commented, “I thought it was Alia but then I looked and it wasn't Alia,” while another wrote, “AI is very dangerous.” Another commented, “What the heck? Musk was right. AI is really winning everything.”

Alia Bhatt's transformation Wamiqa Gabi

This is not the first time a deepfake of Alia has gone viral on social media. In May this year, Alia Bhatt's face was superimposed onto Wamiqa Gabi, leaving fans confused as the video looked so similar to the real thing. “Is this legit?? They're using Alia's face,” one user questioned, while another commented, “This is a real video of Wamiqa Gabi and they've used AI to replace her face.” Another user commented, “This is possible,” while another added, “She looks like Alia though.”

Many actors including Rashmika Mandanna, Kajol, Katrina Kaif etc have fallen prey to deepfake technology. Earlier, a deepfake of Aamir Khan was seen going viral on social media promoting a political party.
