“Bing Video Creator represents an effort to democratize the power of AI video generation,” Microsoft said in the announcement. “We believe that creativity is fun and accessible to help you meet the process of seeking your answer. We make sure that anyone can turn their words into wonder through AI-generated videos.”
Video creators are currently deployed globally in the Bing Search apps on Android and iPhone (except China and Russia). Microsoft says search support for desktop and Copilot will also be “coming soon.” You can access the video generator from the menu in the lower right corner of the Bing app, or by adding a description of the clip you want to create directly in the Bing search bar.
According to Microsoft, users can queue up to three video generations at once, and receive notifications when they are ready. According to Microsoft, you can choose between a “standard” generation speed that's free for all users, or a “fast” option that works “in seconds.” 10 high speed generations are offered free of charge, and then users will need to use standard speed or redeem 100 Microsoft Rewards points for each fast generation.
The video is 5 seconds long, with a 9:16 vertical format, and support for the 16:9 format will be added at a later date. The video will be stored in the Bing app for up to 90 days and can be downloaded or shared with other platforms.
