You know, the president is serious about bringing manufacturing back to this country. There are a lot of announcements to get companies to announce new manufacturing, such as foreign companies like Taiwan Semiconductor building factories in this country. But if these trade agreements completely collapse after these tariff rulings, will U.S. manufacturing be able to come back and keep going?

That’s what high-tech manufacturing does, Brian. Yes, I think chip-based semiconductors will continue to build AI and data storage. Yes, there is a huge investment there. But no, low-tech manufacturing, we’re not going to bring those jobs back. There’s work there. Frankly, you’re focusing on the wrong area of the economy. We are a service economy. Manufacturing accounts for 8% of the nation’s employment, and is likely in decline, similar to agriculture in the 1950s. So I think we should focus on high-tech manufacturing, which will be highly automated with fewer employees. It doesn’t add a lot of jobs. So the question is, where will the work come from? And then we get to white-collar jobs and AI, which is a big, big problem. That’s unresolved. And, frankly, I think the greatest hope for America is the entrepreneurial spirit that allows us to conquer the world with innovation and continue to do so. We clearly have an advantage in the AI space, but I think companies will focus on these opportunities and new jobs will be created there.

I think that’s true. And it’s not just human workers. That means people who get an MBA right out of school have a hard time finding work. As a result, jobs at law firms, securities firms, and investment banks are rapidly decreasing. So the question is, where do today’s talented young people start? That’s a big problem. And I think they’re going to focus more on entrepreneurship and building companies. This is a good thing because everyone thinks of AI as an efficiency. Well, I guess that’s the stakes. I think this is the only way to maintain equality. If you want to stay ahead of the curve, you need to understand how AI can create entirely new business models, just like Mag 7 did 30 years ago. Create a new business model and you will be a winner. Therein lies the opportunity. That’s where I see the work of creative and innovative people.
