As part of promotional material for the ongoing tour, Will Smith has been accused of posting AI-generated images of the crowd. The video shows hands with extra fingers and extra limbs.
Actor and musician Will Smith has faced online criticism for what appears to be a video generated by crowd AI at his concert.
The Fresh Prince of Bel Air Star is currently touring in support of his latest album, The True Story, and is set to become a UK hit soon. As part of the tour promotional material, Smith shared the video on his Instagram, which showed a packed stadium at one of his shows.

However, if you look closely at the clip, you will see that many people have multiple fingers, hands and feet, and their faces appear to be blurry and distorted.
Much of the movement in the crowd is unnatural, urging many online commentators to accuse Smith of posting videos generated at least in part by AI.
Social media users quickly expressed their opinions.
“Why are these AI people in the crowd? That's embarrassing,” one person on Instagram said.
Several other images specifically refer to cancer and show signs that may not be authentic, as they have survived a health struggle. “This is really rude to survivors of actual cancer patients,” another account commented. “Please delete this.”
The controversy over Smith's concert video comes after several other notable AI issues within the music industry. Just a few months ago, a band called “The Velvet Sundown” won 1 million plays on Spotify, and its music, branding and backstory were all made using AI.
Earlier this year, Activision also found it was testing the inadequate AI ads for fake mobile guitar hero games.
