The video emerged amid heightened political tensions after INEC announced it would not recognize the African Democratic Congress (ADC) faction led by David Mark and Rafiu Bala, citing an appeal court order to maintain the status quo pending resolution of the leadership dispute.

The development sparked speculation about a possible protest by supporters of the Maluku-led faction at INEC headquarters in Abuja. On Thursday, security forces, including soldiers and armored personnel carriers, were physically deployed around the commission’s headquarters on Zambezi Crescent in Maitama.

Images of the security deployment were widely shared and reported by multiple media outlets.

However, depending on the check fact checking hub Indicates that the video being circulated is not real.

Analysis of the footage revealed that it was generated using artificial intelligence. The video appears to be based on previous images showing security deployment at INEC headquarters, but has been digitally altered.

It is clear that the video is a composite, as some of the tires can be seen moving on their own in the video, and the signboard with the Maidama Crescent Moon appears to be floating in the air without a hanger.

We have geolocated the address of INEC headquarters, but the results do not match the content of the video. For example, the entrance shown in the video is blue, which does not match the actual INEC headquarters in Abuja.

Furthermore, although the sign in the video says “Maitama Crescent,” the official address of INEC headquarters is Zambezi Crescent, Maitama.
