Speaking at the plenary session of the 5th Eurasian Economic Forum in Astana, Vietnam’s Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung praised the forum’s focus on artificial intelligence, saying it is highly relevant amid emerging global trends. He emphasized that AI has become a strategic resource for strengthening public administration and national competitiveness.

“The existing agreements between the EAEU and Vietnam provide a solid basis for economic cooperation between the two countries and have already brought good results. In the new situation, we should complete the existing areas of cooperation with new technological initiatives,” he said.

According to the deputy prime minister, the two countries could strengthen cooperation by exchanging policies on responsible AI use, data protection standards and cybersecurity.

He also proposed deepening cooperation in AI research and development, particularly in the areas of smart agriculture, urban development, and transportation. He also called for stronger collaboration between research centers and educational institutions to develop experts in the fields of cybernetics and computer science.

“The AI era is already here. The AI era brings not only challenges but also opportunities for countries that know how to cooperate effectively and make timely decisions. Vietnam sees the EAEU as a reliable partner on this path towards building a shared AI ecosystem that will benefit both sides,” said Ho Quoc Dung.
