University of Phoenix launches central AI center to help adult learners use generative AI effectively and responsibly — EdTech Innovation Hub

Applications of AI

The center brings together practical advice on AI literacy, policy-aligned expectations for coursework, and how to use AI tools and prompts.

All students at the university have access to Microsoft Copilot, allowing them to use AI for research, ideation, and productivity in a safe space. On this basis, the Center will provide a step-by-step orientation on available AI tools and responsible usage scenarios.

The center not only explains the ethical and responsible use of AI, but also provides guidance on when AI is useful and when human judgment is required.

“We created the Center to empower students, giving them the confidence and practical know-how to use AI thoughtfully, cite sources, protect data, and protect academic integrity during their studies,” explains Doris Sablon, University Vice President for Assessment and Curriculum. “We are focused on providing clear guidance and real-world examples to help working adults make AI a trusted research and problem-solving partner.”

The center can be accessed through the university’s virtual platform. It also includes a feedback system that allows users to rate its usefulness and share suggestions. Insights from here are used to create quick updates and short-form video explanations.
