The Samsung Galaxy S25 series receives one UI 8: new AI features, Knox Keep Security, etc.

AI News

Samsung has begun rolling out its latest software update, UI 8, introducing new artificial intelligence tools, strengthening security measures, and introducing user experience improvements across the Galaxy Ecosystem. This update debuts this week on the Galaxy S25 series and expands to the Galaxy S24 Range, Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy S24 Fe, and other eligible models.

Personalized suggestions and daily updates

One UI 8 brings proactive and personalized suggestions based on user context, whilst integrating more powerful data protection protocols. Features like Now Bar and Now Brief provide real-time app activity, media progress, personalized reminders, traffic updates, and health insights from your Galaxy Watch device.

Improved security and privacy

In terms of security, Samsung has introduced Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (Keep), which sets up encrypted app-specific storage environments and restricts sensitive data access to individual apps. Knox Matrix further enhances your account security by automatically signing out compromised devices and alerting linked Galaxy products. This update will enhance secure Wi-Fi after mass encryption to prevent the threat of emerging networks.

AI-driven multimodal functionality

AI-driven multimodality supports several new features. Gemini Live allows real-time interactions with AI that can interpret visual and auditory cues, while Google search extends in-game support and instant-on-screen translation across apps and websites.

This update has been tailored to multiple form factors. Large screen devices benefit from features such as AI results view, split view, floating view, and enhanced multi-window tools for dragging and dropping content generated into AI. FlexWindow on Galaxy Z Flip gains new features such as voice-activated Gemini live support, enhanced third-party app integration, and customizable wallpapers.

Creative tools are also part of the release, with Portrait Studio generating portraits of pets, drawing assists and lighting that increase productivity, and removing audio erasers that remove background noise while recording video and audio. Accessibility-focused features include call captions that transcribe voice during a call, and keyboard-based translations within the interpreter.

The update also introduces visual changes, including a redesigned clock that adapts to wallpaper, and offers a new option for emoji-based FlexWindow customization.
