Through this setup, audit teams are expected to more effectively coordinate complex tasks and processes and respond to risks in a more adaptive manner, while having access to frequently updated audit and accounting guidance.
This rollout will embed AI into all stages of auditing through EY Canvas for engagements around the world. This effort followed a period of extensive piloting and testing.
EY expects this technology to underpin all end-to-end audit activities by 2028.
The company says the platform is part of a broader change in the way auditors work. This approach aims to reduce administrative demands on customers, enhance risk assessment, and maintain the central role of professional judgment, skepticism and insight.
It added that the system is designed to generate additional insights, improve the audit experience for both clients and staff, enhance quality, simplify processes, support confidence in results and tailor workflows to specific operations.
Janet Trancheil, Chairman and CEO of EY Global, said: “As we help the world’s leading organizations transform, we maintain the same standards and start from ‘client zero’.
“The rapid growth of data and new complexities in AI assurance are requiring our workforce and technology to evolve faster than ever.
“EY’s human-led, AI-powered audit of the future is a market-leading example of enterprise AI in action, delivering greater value, deeper insight and increased confidence for our clients and stakeholders. This will be accelerated by continued investment based on our All in strategy.”
