Synthesia on Monday launched Synthesia 2.0, an artificial intelligence (AI) video communications platform for businesses. The AI platform allows users to create studio-quality videos with AI avatars by simply posting a video script. The platform also released two types of AI avatars, including expressive AI avatars that can be given personality and use different body language, including head, eye and hand movements. According to the AI company, users can also customize video elements to incorporate their brand identity.

Synthesia 2.0 Released for Enterprise

The AI company unveiled its AI platform in a blog post, showcasing its capabilities. The Synthesia 2.0 platform features two personal AI avatars, an AI video assistant, an AI screen recorder, and an interactive video player that can be personalized based on brand preferences. The platform's AI avatars are trained with the company's proprietary Express-1 AI model.

There are two AI Avatars: Expressive AI Avatars and Custom AI Avatars. Express AI Avatars are digital avatars that appear in studio-quality videos shot with high-definition cameras from various angles. Avatars are expressive and have personality, and can use hand and head gestures in your videos.

Additionally, custom avatars can be accessed using a user's webcam or phone. These avatars appear against natural backgrounds, allowing businesses to create quick videos for smaller use cases. Synthesia says its custom AI avatars also offer lip sync and natural voice, and can reproduce the user's voice in over 30 languages.

An AI video assistant has also been introduced within the platform. This feature can be used by businesses who want to get templated videos quickly. Users can choose from over 200 free video templates, add a video script, upload a document or link to create the video, and generate the video.

Users can customize the tone, length and audience of their videos – a feature that will be available starting next month – and they can also add branding elements to their videos, such as typography, colors and logos, allowing businesses to achieve a consistent look and feel across all their videos.

Another feature that businesses can take advantage of is the AI Screen Recorder. If users want to include screen recorded content in a video, this feature eliminates the need to edit the recording, sync up narration, add effects, etc. Users can simply add their recording to the feature and it will instantly be added to the video as they edit.

Additionally, once the draft is generated, editing of the entire video is also possible: users can edit the script, trim the video, and add avatars and voices to give it a personal touch.

Finally, the Synthesia 2.0 platform also uses AI to enhance video playback. At launch, users can set it to automatically play in the viewer's language. Later this year, the platform will introduce interactive features such as clickable hotspots, embedded forms, quizzes and personalized CTA buttons. Additionally, the platform will also add an automatic translation feature, allowing videos to be automatically translated into a business' preferred language.
