A new survey reveals that eight in 10 workers are using artificial intelligence (AI) at work.
according to rateThe FRS Recruitment Employment Insights Report shows that more than half of employees believe that AI will impact or replace their job in the coming days.
The majority of people using AI in the workplace are in the education and training, hospitality and tourism, agriculture, agro-processing and food sectors, according to the report.
Meanwhile, IT, professional services, pharmaceutical and medical device workplaces reported the lowest usage rates.
“What this year's survey reveals is how the economic situation is influencing attitudes in the current jobs market,” Lynne McCormack, general manager of FRS Recruitment, said.
She added: “The most visible manifestation of this is that six in 10 employers say the economic outlook is influencing their hiring activities, but it's also reflected in employee outlook for this year.”
“The number of employees who are worried about their job security is up compared to last year, while fewer employees believe there are more job opportunities available. The number of employees who think they can secure a new job within three months has also fallen compared to 2023 figures,” Mr McCormack said.
