With the Swiss AI Platform, Swisscom is building a powerful infrastructure for developing trustworthy AI applications.
The platform will have a modular design and guarantee data storage in Switzerland. Starting in autumn 2024, it will provide flexible access to NVIDIA's supercomputers, generative AI services, an AI work hub for developing AI solutions, and a library of models. It aims to be a one-stop shop for AI solutions, offering everything from advice to operations.
Earlier this year, Swisscom announced it was partnering with NVIDIA to develop its own AI supercomputer in Switzerland. Through its partnership with NVIDIA, Swisscom wants to offer standardized self-service AI applications and work with customers to develop customized AI applications. Swisscom's new Swiss AI Platform represents the next step in this process: a secure solution operated in Switzerland and built on state-of-the-art infrastructure.
A modular Swiss AI platform for flexible access to AI infrastructure and services
Swiss AI Platform provides AI infrastructure, platform and application services. The modular design allows customers to flexibly select and combine components according to their requirements. GPU Rental provides access to the first NVIDIA SuperPOD system in Switzerland, which allows processing of large amounts of data, including training, fine-tuning and operating models. GenAI Studio allows easy access to generative AI services via API interfaces and allows companies to create their own AI solutions with the necessary content for their specific requirements. AI Work Hub is designed for data scientists who analyze and process large amounts of data, develop and train models. It supports the joint development of customer-specific AI applications. Swisscom's model catalog provides customers with a curated library of open source models. Licensed models and models developed by Swisscom in collaboration with third parties will also be available at a later date.
One-stop shop – Swiss made
In future, customers will be able to source all AI services from Swisscom – from advice to the development, implementation and secure operation of AI applications – while enjoying maximum flexibility across all components. Customers can choose between the Swiss AI platform, infrastructure operated by global public cloud providers and AI solutions integrated into standard software applications.

The NVIDIA infrastructure therefore enhances Swisscom's existing offerings with infrastructure and applications that offer maximum Swissness – particularly for use cases involving sensitive data that needs to be stored and processed in Switzerland.
Switzerland's unique AI research centre
By working with NVIDIA, Swisscom has gained world-class industry experts with experience in implementing artificial intelligence across industries, sectors and specific application scenarios, keeping pace with the rapid development of AI. Working closely with NVIDIA, Swisscom strengthens its strong partnerships with global public cloud providers, independent software companies and universities. Swisscom's 400 AI and data specialists, combined with their years of extensive experience, constitute a unique Swiss center of excellence. This makes Swisscom well-equipped to offer comprehensive, customized and technology-neutral solutions to its customers as a trusted partner.
