Rishi Sunak is set to push for an “artificial intelligence pact” between governments and businesses during a meeting with Joe Biden next week.
The prime minister acknowledged concerns that AI technology poses an “existential risk” to humanity and said he would raise the issue of AI when he visits Washington for consultations.
Sunak is believed to support a proposal for a voluntary agreement aimed at preventing the worst harm before new laws dealing with AI are introduced.
