• California Executive Order: Governor Gavin Newsom has issued an Executive Order (EO) directing state agencies to target AI-induced labor market disruption and recommend updates to California’s Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) law regarding AI-related mass layoffs.
• New Connecticut AI law: Starting October 1, 2027, employers must notify applicants and employees in writing if AI materially affects hiring, promotion, discipline, or termination decisions.
