Sensormatic Solutions, Johnson Controls (JCI)'s global portfolio of retail solutions, continues to improve the capabilities of Shrink Analyzer, a cloud-based loss prevention prevention (LP) application.
Recent development efforts for applications use machine learning (ML) to enhance internal theft analysis, continuously improving the identification accuracy of lost events, accelerate the evidence building process to assist in prosecution, and support early detection and repair.
NRF Protect 2025 participants can directly explore these extensions in Booth 922.
“The retailer's data ecosystem needs context to effectively deal with total retail losses,” said Tony D'Onofrio, president of Sensormatic Solutions. “They need to be able to see all the operational areas that evolve from the floor to storage and beyond, with changing needs. The new ML capabilities of the shrink analyzer represent a critical breakthrough in the way loss prevention teams identify, validate and accelerate their case-building efforts.”
Adding ML to reduce the analytical equipment can help retailers.
-
Increases data integrity. RFID technology captures hundreds of data points per second. Shrink Analyzer's new ML-driven Shrink Consection Score simplifies the aggregation and data cleaning process, helping to increase accuracy and increase case values.
-
Identify and address suspicious store semi-actions. The lover detection feature brings the financial impact of avoiding self-checkout scans with lovers, as well as the identity of recurring criminals. Combining ML technology with item-level sales, inventory, exits, and associate/shopper behavioral data, Shrink Analyzer can enhance the retailer's ability to identify evolving tactics and take action to stop them.
-
Improve research efficiency and results. A VDC study showed that half (50%) of retailers would like to use RFID to improve research team productivity and effectiveness, while 37% would like to accelerate the prosecutor's timeline. The ML feature of Shrink Analyzer can identify previously undetected loss events. This can be used to index videos and build automated cases.
Like previous iterations, the newly expanded application is an agnosticist in inventory platforms, compatible with the Sensormatic Solutions suite of RFID hardware and can be integrated with the ecosystem of retail analytics. Sensormatic Solutions plans to make these ML-based features available in the second half of 2025.
NRF Protect visitors can explore new features from Shrink Analyzer at booth 922 June 23-25 at Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, Texas. Tony D'Onofrio, president of Sensormatic Solutions, will also be introduced at NRF Ring of Excellence, which recognizes the exemplary leader of LPs at the NRF Protect Awards ceremony on June 24th.
