Mattel Inc.El Segundo-based Toymaker brand brings an iconic portfolio of Barbie, Hot Wheels and UNO to Openai.

Openaia technology company known for its early market-to-market generation artificial intelligence models, such as ChatGPT, announced a partnership with Mattel in mid-June. With collaborations that are still in their early stages, Mattel can use some of the flagship characters to create generated AI content.

“AI has the power to expand its mission and expand the reach of its brand in new and exciting ways.” Josh SilvermanMattel's chief franchise officer said in a statement. “Working with OpenAI will enable us to leverage new technology, solidify our leadership in innovation and rethink new forms of play.”

It's difficult to know exactly what comes out of this collaboration. This is because it's the first of its kind.

Openai has announced a partnership with Microsoft Corp. In 2019, the company later announced similar collaboration deals with various organizations such as. Arizona State University, Apple Inc.,and Associated Press. Mattel is Openai's first foray into the world of Toymaking and Childhood Entertainment.

“We are delighted to offer the benefits of ChatGPT to our employees as Mattel moves to introduce thoughtful experiences and products to its iconic brand.” Blood Light CapOpenai's chief operating officer said in a statement. “With Openai, Mattel gives us access to an advanced set of AI capabilities, along with new tools that enable large-scale productivity, creativity, and company-wide transformation.”

Mattel's strategy for that valuable intellectual property was improved in 2018 Ynon Kreiz I became CEO. Under his lead, Mattel branched out into other forms of entertainment, extending his toy brand into films, video games, theme parks and competitions.
