Perplexity AI acquires OS.AI domain from HubSpot's co-founder

Perplexity AI, an AI-powered search startup, has acquired the domain os.ai From Dharmesh Shah, founder and CTO of Hubspot. Shah confirmed the news in a LinkedIn post and said he could not disclose details of the transaction.

“I sold the domain os.ai For confusion,” writes Shah. Right now I am a rather large shareholder. ”

Domain is currently baffled by Comet, the agent browser for AI.

The announcement is as tech companies explore platforms optimized for AI-Native workflows. Shah previously wrote about the ideas of operating systems in the AI era.

“It makes perfect sense that AI exists. Every big technological shift brings a new kind of OS,” he said. “Descends ago, we saw the PC War. Then the fight for the browser. Then the fight for the mobile OS.”

Openai did not disclose the acquisition price, but it is estimated that it is likely to exceed $15 million.
