
Lucknow, May 2 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) on Thursday arrested a man for creating an AI-generated deepfake video and uploading it on Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's social media. did.
According to the STF, Shyam Kishore Gupta, 48, was arrested from his home in Noida's Shyam Lal Colony.
Additional SP, STF, Raj Kumar Mishra said the arrest was made following the creation and dissemination of a deep fake video on May 1, which was allegedly associated with the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister.
“The video was posted on X by the account @shyamguptarpswa, causing confusion and anger among the people,” Mishra said.
The AI-generated deepfake video was 19 seconds long and had references to the Pulwama attack.
Mr. Mishra said a thorough investigation and evidence collection was carried out, based on which a case was filed against Mr. Gupta.
During interrogation, Gupta confessed to uploading the AI-generated fake videos to social media through his X account.
