The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has announced the launch of online certificate programs in Applied Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (AI) under its Continuing Education Program (CEP). This 8-month course is designed primarily for working professionals and graduates and aims to provide a comprehensive foundation in machine learning and AI principles and their real-world applications.
The curriculum covers the full spectrum of data science and AI and incorporates MLOps practices and model deployment training using tools such as Docker, TensorFlow, and Google Colab. The program comprises 75 hours of live sessions and over 40 hours of practical tutorials led by Delhi Technological University faculty and integrates industry case studies across sectors such as healthcare, finance, VLSI, and e-commerce.
Classes are scheduled to run from November 14 to July 10, 2027, with live online sessions held on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Candidates who have obtained or hold a Graduation Degree or 3 Year Diploma (10+2+3) from a recognized university are eligible to apply. Preference will also be given to applicants with a background in computer science, information technology, electronics, electrical engineering, physics, or related fields.
Participants will complete a required capstone project to demonstrate practical AI applications in real-world scenarios. On passing, candidates will be awarded an e-certificate by CEP, IIT Delhi. The total course fee is set at Rs 1,940,000 plus 18% GST, in addition to a non-refundable application fee of Rs 1,000.
