Boston, Massachusetts, May 6, 2026 — IBM (NYSE: IBM) at Think 2026 announced new capabilities delivered through IBM Enterprise Advantage, a first-of-its-kind asset-based consulting service that helps clients build and operate their own hybrid AI platforms. IBM also introduced updates across IBM Consulting Advantage, its internal hybrid AI platform for providing consulting services to clients. Today, Pearson, Providence, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) joined IBM Consulting’s Think Stage to share how these capabilities can be used to bring AI across critical workflows and systems.
“Organizations are not just looking to scale AI, they are looking to scale AI with control across multiple AI stacks and within business contexts,” he said. Mohammad Ali, Senior Vice President and Head of IBM Consulting. “Enterprise Advantage helps clients build their own in-house AI platforms with sovereignty at the core, and Consulting Advantage uses the same approach to serve clients, both powered by IBM watsonx.”

New ability to create AI agents with business context
IBM has introduced two new updates to Enterprise Advantage. It combines consulting expertise with software-based delivery to help companies embed AI into everyday processes with business context.
- context studionow available, allowing businesses to create AI agents based on the structure of their organization’s data and processes. This feature is designed to support digital sovereignty by giving organizations control over their data, models, and decisions across their environments, while driving greater accuracy, relevance, and performance at scale.
- process studiois coming soon and is expected to help companies transform legacy processes into agent-enabled workflows by using AI agents to extract logic from thousands of standard operating procedures and artifacts.
In a recent client project supported by internal assets that are part of Process Studio, IBM analyzed 1,400 steps, discovered more than 1,000 improvement opportunities, and redesigned the workflow. These workflows are projected to help clients reduce operational costs by more than 25% over 18 months using agent AI.
Pioneering organization reimagines workforce systems with AI
From certifying AI agents to accelerating the hiring of caregivers, organizations are using AI to modernize critical workforce systems.
- Preview of Pearson and IBM’s AI agent verification solution
Pearson and IBM will preview new capabilities in development that will enable enterprises to certify and continuously assess AI agents to ensure they have the right skills to perform specific tasks. This capability is built on Pearson’s internal AI platform, modeled after IBM Enterprise Advantage, and enables organizations to manage human expertise alongside AI assistants, agents, and assets. - Providence uses AI to streamline hiring process and improve caregiver experience
Providence, one of the largest health systems in the United States, worked with IBM Consulting to deploy an AI-powered HR agent using IBM watsonx Orchestrate integrated with its existing HR platform. After about 8 months, the results were noticeable. Managers now spend 90% less time on the hiring step. Job requests created through this system are now 70% more accurate and fewer mistakes need to be corrected later. Providence also sped up internal transfers, placing care workers in new roles an average of 12 days earlier. This has reduced both time to fill positions and transfer costs by 60%, allowing caregivers to get where they are needed faster and improving access to care.
Enhanced interoperability and new FedRAMP certified deployment options give clients more flexibility to run AI at scale. IBM Consulting Advantage is now available in FedRAMP certified environments.
- Improved multi-agent AI interoperability with SAP: IBM and SAP are expanding their collaboration through the Agent2Agent (A2A) interoperability standard to run complex multi-agent services for clients. IBM Consulting Advantage agents can now manage SAP’s Joule agent, which works directly with IBM’s watsonx Orchestrate agent.
- Expanding the availability of IBM Consulting Advantage with AWS: IBM Consulting Advantage is now FedRAMP certified and available on AWS GovCloud (US). This provides federal agencies secure access to AI and automation capabilities without the need to manage the underlying infrastructure, while meeting government compliance, security, and data residency requirements.
These enhancements underscore IBM’s focus on helping organizations advance their AI efforts. Through AI-powered delivery services and strong partnerships, IBM Consulting helps clients modernize their frameworks, integrate AI across their technology stack, and achieve interoperability that makes it easier to scale AI and drive meaningful outcomes.
