As the latest example of Aetrex’s innovative strategy, the brand’s new Zoe Pro is equipped with an artificial intelligence (AI) component that helps consumers find the right shoe from their chosen brand.

Zoe is the next generation version of the flagship Albert Pro foot scan technology. This is a reimagined 3D foot scanner at a more affordable price point for widespread adoption in retail stores.

Importantly, Zoe retains key 3D foot measurements and key underfoot pressure analysis from its predecessor Albert Pro, and now features AI-powered shoe recommendations. Zoe also features an AI assistant that helps shoppers find the right fit through voice or text, effectively becoming a virtual store clerk.

Priced at $2,995, the Albert remains the company’s flagship product, as it has several advanced features that the Zoe lacks to keep the Zoe’s price down to $1,995.

Zoe comes pre-installed with Fit AI software that can provide a list of shoe styles by brand in the stores where it is installed.

Aetrex CEO Larry Schwartz says his company is working with Heeluxe, a footwear inspection system. Additionally, if Heeluxe does not have data points and measurements for a particular shoe, retailers can obtain measurements from the brand’s manufacturer to input into the system. DSW is a retailer currently using scanners in its stores and offering Fit AI to its customers. Other companies using foot scanning machines include Puma, Foot Locker, Seals, Schuler Shoes and Nordstrom, according to Aitorex’s CEO.

In April, Aetrex partnered with Tradehome Shoes to provide foot health exams to athletes at the Special Olympics USA Games, June 20-26, 2026, at the University of Minnesota and the National Sports Center in Blaine. The company provided 12 Albert Pro 3D foot scanners located throughout the athlete village and provided free Aetrex Speed ​​Orthotics to all participating athletes to improve biomechanical alignment, reduce fatigue, and prevent injury.

And this month, Aetrex partnered with IMG Academy, the world’s leading sports education brand, to install five Albert Pro foot scanners at the IMG campus in Bradenton, Florida. All 1,800 new athletes will undergo an onboarding scan to provide a personalized foot assessment covering arch type, pressure distribution, 16 key 3D measurements, and gait pattern. Each participant will be provided with a pair of Aetrex athletic insoles and will also be “fitted with recommended appropriate undershoes” using the Fit AI software system, Schwartz said.

Aetrex has more than 12,000 scanners installed in retail doors around the world. More than 50 million unique customer foot scans have been performed since 2002, collecting rich data points for the AI ​​to analyze and compile the best shoe recommendations for the end user.

AI will continue to play a key role in the future. “Many of them are [software] Evolving AI and AI assistants. Scanners are also constantly being developed, but the next one is not expected to be ready until sometime in 2027. Data from Aetrex’s foot scan history also helps guide Aetrex’s footwear product line. “We’re using that learning and that data to create really smart shoes for our customers, shoes that have the ability to reduce pressure on the soles of the feet, where they’re most susceptible to pain,” Schwartz said.
