AI is becoming a core part of how we work at Business Insider. We’re already using it to reduce repetitive tasks and spend more time on the things that actually matter.
One team where this is already very visible is People & Culture.
One of our smaller teams, P&C, has reached full adoption and is rapidly experimenting and building tools that are already being used across the company. A huge thank you to the team who innovated and championed this. (And a huge thank you to the many people who have used the tool and provided feedback!)
Most recently, Joel Marino vibecoded a new manager review survey. It was released last week (a plugin that lets you answer surveys instantly!) and provides a better way to collect and analyze anonymous feedback. From 2027, external research vendors will be able to be replaced with in-house systems.
Other examples of P&C teams seeing real impact:
- Benefits Bot (written by Michael Buffone) answered about 250 questions, including reducing inbox volume and replacing biweekly office time (saving about 4 hours per month).
- Feed Me Feedback (authored by Joel Marino) provides employees with an on-demand thought partner for difficult conversations, freeing up P&C departments to focus on more complex coaching.
- Brand Bot (authored by Joel Marino) had over 270 conversations in two months and helped teams pressure test ideas and ensure their work felt distinctly BI.
- UK Benefits Assistant, written by Grace O’Donnell, helps employees in London compare benefits options and choose what’s best for them.
And it’s not just about efficiency. Tools like Brand Bot help teams apply our voices and standards more consistently so that ideas, events, and communications feel unique to BI from the start. This is change. AI can help simplify processes, expand expertise, and focus on higher-value work. In Q2, we’ll have lots of training, panels, and resources coming soon to help everyone get started.
I can’t wait to see what you build next.
