Honor reveals the first image of the Magic8 Pro and introduces new AI Technologies

AI News

Honor revealed the first few images Honor Magic8 ProIt will be released in China next month.

The device comes in a bright teal colorway that somehow reminisces the Jade Cyan tone of the Honor X9C.

Additionally, the phone has a more squared look, especially its frame, with rounded corners. On the other hand, the camera bumps on the back are still very honorable.

However, what's very noticeable is the extra button on the right, which is reminiscent of the camera control button first introduced in the iPhone 16 series.

The Honor Magic8 series is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 mobile platform.

The phone will debut new groundbreaking on-device AI innovations, including low-bit quantization technology for AI models and next-generation hybrid search technology.

Honor's Agent AI capabilities and Qualcomm's mobile platform will make future mobile phones even more efficient and packed with computing power. These advancements are also available on the Honor MagicPad 3 Pro.

Highly efficient on-device AI modeling

Low-bit quantization technologies address computing power, memory, and energy consumption. This is honored as the three biggest challenges of Device AI.

Thanks to the new Qualcomm Hexagon NPU, this technology helps the Honor Magic8 series provide a 15% increase in modeling computing, 20% model consumption and 30% less storage space compared to previous Honor devices.

In addition, next-generation hybrid search technology is designed to dramatically improve device processing and surface information.

By encoding text, image and audio/video data into dense vectors and building highly efficient semantic-level indexes, the system achieves millisecond-level similarity matching and increases search performance by up to 400%.

Breakthroughs not only accelerate multimodal semantic search, but also strengthen the foundations of intelligent agents. Second, responses across a wide range of real-world scenarios are faster and more accurate.

Magical Color

At the 2025 Snapdragon Summit China, Honor also unveiled the magical colours with his first agent.

This innovation allows users to convert and wrestling images and videos with simplicity, allowing them to apply tasks such as searching images, extracting key color tones, and applying those tones to new targets.

All steps in the process are done through intuitive, single-statement commands. This is because magical colour combines efficient on-device AI models with advanced semantic understanding to lower barriers to complex image editing.

This makes it easy for everyday users and creators to achieve professional grade results. Looking ahead, Honor plans to extend its agent-driven capabilities to over 200 vertical and 3,000 common scenarios, covering the top 100 applications.

AI Super Sampling for Games

Finally, Honor has collaborated with Qualcomm to introduce the industry-leading hyperfusion core architecture.

This allows the multiple core performance engines of Honor Bonerbo X to be deeply integrated with the Qualcomm Oryon CPU architecture.

By dynamically scheduling resources between cores, this architecture maximizes energy efficiency and performance for a smoother and more responsive user experience.

In addition to this, there is the first GPU-NPU non-uniform AI supersampling technology based on the Snapdragon platform.

It is designed to convert low-resolution, low-frame-rate gameplay into a high-resolution high-frame-rate experience.

Like PC DLSS technology, it leverages AI to reconstruct details, motion features and lighting effects in real time.

In fact, this allows tough world titles to achieve 1080p from 60fps to 120fps, offering both super resolution and ultra-high frame rates.

Compared to traditional GPU-based upscaling, the combination of GPU-NPU computing reduces latency and jitter.

All the advances mentioned above highlight Honor's vision for a dual-engine era where AI agents and performance optimizations converge to redefine the user experience and accelerate the arrival of the age of general purpose intelligent agents.
