AI Video & Visuals

Hyderabad: Notebooklm, Google's AI research and note-taking tool introduced a video overview and added a new upgrade to the studio panel. Video Summary helps you turn a text document into an AI-generated video summary using slides that contain visuals retrieved directly from the provided content such as diagrams, numbers, quotes, and more.

It was first featured at the Google I/O 2025 event and will be deployed to all users who use NotebookLM in English. The video overview feature will soon support more languages, Google said.

Notebooklm Video Overview

In a blog post, Google explained the new video overview feature in Notebooklm. This allows users to turn notes and documents into short, narrated videos. These videos use slides with diagrams, quotes, numbers and images taken directly from content uploaded by users. This can be effective in explaining data, demonstrating processes, and making complex concepts easier to understand.

Currently, the video overview shows content uploaded in the form of narrated slides. There will be more formats in the future, the blog post said.

Video overviews can be used to meet specific requirements for users. This is similar to the customizations available in the Audio Overview. Users can specify topics of interest, learn goals, and identify target audiences. In particular, the new features accept both general and advanced prompts.

Other Notebooklm Upgrades

Redesigned Studio Panel: Tools in Notebooklm's Studio Panel include audio overview, video overview, mind maps, reports, and timelines. Google has redesigned its studio section to showcase these options with a colorful grid.

Additionally, users can now create and store multiple outputs of the same category in a single notebook. According to the blog post, this can be useful in a variety of situations. For example, if a user needs to create a public notebook, the user can create a set of audio overviews in different languages, making it accessible to everyone.

If users want to manage their teams, they can create an overview of audio and video for specific roles to save time and energy. On the other hand, if students want to study for the exam, tools such as mind maps and video overviews can be used to focus on different chapters of the subject. With the help of NotebookLM tools, users can dynamically use AI research tools in a variety of situations.

Redesigned homepage: Everything that the user generates will appear in the new activity feed under the Studio Tools. To increase productivity, users can also listen to an overview of multitasking and audio within the studio panel, while simultaneously exploring mind maps and reviewing research guides.
