Google has upgraded Google AI Studio A new full-stack coding experience introduces backend infrastructure, authentication, and extended framework support within a single workflow.
This update positions the platform beyond prototyping as a tool for building production-ready applications.
This release is centered around Google Antigravity, a new coding agent designed to transform prompts into structured applications and manage multi-step builds. Agents maintain context across projects, reducing manual input and enabling more complex development.
Google AI Studio now integrates Firebase directly into your development process. The system detects when your application requires database or user authentication and automatically provisions Cloud Firestore and Firebase Authentication.
Support for external services has also been expanded. Developers can connect APIs, payment systems, and Google services using stored credentials through the built-in secret management system.
Persistent sessions allow users to resume work across multiple devices without losing progress.
Broader framework support and use cases
The platform now supports Next.js along with React and Angular, extending its use in modern web applications. The agent also integrates with front-end libraries and selects tools based on user prompts.
Highlighted use cases include multiplayer applications, collaboration tools, and real-time environments. These builds combine front-end interfaces and back-end functionality and reflect the transition to AI-native applications rather than standalone demos.
Google says the updated system is already being used internally to build hundreds of thousands of applications.
This update signals a change in the positioning of AI coding tools. AI Studio is no longer limited to generating snippets and prototypes. Now supports complete application workflow from prompt to deployment.
For EdTech, this signals a shift in the way coding and digital skills are taught. Learners are increasingly using tools to generate, structure, and deploy applications, reducing their reliance on traditional development processes.
