KATHMANDU, February 23: Fusemachines Inc. has opened registration for the 2026 Nepal Cohort for AI Fellowship, a six-month program aimed at developing work-ready artificial intelligence and data science professionals, the company announced in a press release.
The fellowship, now in its ninth year, offers a unique microdegree program designed by U.S. university faculty and AI industry experts, the company said. This program is aimed at IT students, professionals, and enthusiasts with backgrounds in programming, mathematics, computer science, and software development.
The company said that after a multi-stage selection process, selected candidates will be awarded full scholarships.

The fellowship combines online instruction through an educational platform with on-site practical sessions, according to a press release. Participants will receive training in core mathematical and programming fundamentals, as well as generative AI, machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, prompted engineering, and MLOps.
Fusemachines CEO Sameer Maskey said in a press release that the program reflects the company’s commitment to expanding access to quality AI education across geographic boundaries. Similarly, Head of South Asia Strategy and Managing Director Parag Shrestha said the initiative aims to strengthen Nepal’s AI ecosystem and connect regional talent to global opportunities.
Since its inception in 2017, AI Fellowship has trained more than 1,200 fellows from 12 countries, primarily in frontier markets, the company said.
Founded in 2013, Fusemachines provides enterprise AI products and services with operations in North America, Asia, and Latin America.
