Fika Jobs raises $4 million for AI-powered video resumes

Stockholm-based recruitment platform Fika Jobs has raised $4 million in pre-seed funding to expand its video-first recruitment approach. The round was led by Luminar Ventures with participation from more than 20 venture capitalists and angel investors, including Alliance VC, as well as Sebastian Knutsson and Riccardo Zacconi, the Nordic entrepreneurs and co-founders of King, the company behind Candy Crush.

Founded by brothers Jacob and Alexander Dubois, Fika Jobs is rethinking how candidates present themselves in a job market that is being shaped by artificial intelligence. The company is named after the Swedish tradition of fika, reflecting the company’s belief that meaningful professional connections often begin with conversations, not paperwork.

The platform allows candidates to complete a 10-minute conversation with an AI agent, after which a profile consisting of short video clips highlighting the candidate’s skills, experience, ambitions, and values ​​is automatically generated. Once published, candidates can be matched with relevant current and future opportunities, reducing the need for repeat applications and helping employers identify better candidates.

The company is already growing its waiting list of employers ahead of the broader launch. During the initial testing phase in 2025, more than 50 companies used the platform to attract thousands of candidates and successfully hire several.

The founders argue that traditional recruiting is becoming increasingly automated, and AI-generated applications are often vetted by automated recruiting tools before candidates have a chance to prove their strengths beyond a resume.

For employers, the platform provides access to pre-interviewed candidates as well as deeper insight into candidates’ motivations, skills and career goals. To support fairer hiring decisions, Fika Jobs anonymizes attributes such as age, gender, and ethnicity during the matching process. Companies only pay if a job is done.

With the new funding, Fika Jobs plans to further develop its platform, expand its team, and prepare for a broader market launch later this year.
