The Boeing Company is looking for Full Stack/UI Software Engineers (Associate, Mid-Level or Senior). This position will be located in Huntsville, Alabama, Fairfax, Virginia, or Boston, Massachusetts.

The position will involve creating software for world class artificial intelligence and analytics applications. The selected candidate will support Boeing Research & Technology, focusing on maturing capabilities for transition to products and capabilities across the enterprise. As part of Boeing’s software capability, our engineers use their expertise to dream up next-generation software capabilities for amazing aerospace, satellite, and autonomous platforms. You will collaborate with other world-class scientists, researchers, and engineers innovating on a range of technologies including: Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI/ML), Advanced Training & Simulation, Production Analytics, Autonomy, Electro-Optical/Infrared Sensing, Cybersecurity, Disruptive Computing & Networks, and High-Fidelity Digital Twin & Virtualization, and much more.

Our software products help solve Boeing’s most challenging problems across Commercial Airplanes, Defense Space & Security, and Global Services businesses. Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and design of Web based UI solutions to deliver an intuitive user experience
  • Collaborate with users, technical, and architecture teams to solve complex user interface problems
  • Rapidly prototype UI interfaces to iteratively work with users on UI design
  • Advocate for modern designs and best practices that deliver value to our end users while considering ease of implementation and sustainment
  • Understand the capabilities, complexity, and limitations of technical architecture throughout the UI Development process
  • Provide critical support and independent review of the work of teammates
  • Perform other full-stack development tasks when needed

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

To be considered for this position you will be required to complete a technical assessment as part of the selection process. Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or other technical degree
  • Experience with designing and developing web-based applications
  • 1+ years of experience with modern JavaScript/Typescript-based web application front end frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular
  • 1+ years of experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, C, C++, or MATLAB

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to obtain a clearance (requires US Citizenship)
  • Experience in REST API Development
  • Experience in Python (Django)
  • Experience in SQL (Oracle/MySQL)
  • Experience in Git and Gitlab
  • Experience in VMWare Tanzu Cloud
  • Experience in Web based 3D Visualization (Babylon.js/Three.js)
  • Experience with backend development
  • Experience with applied Machine Learning

 Typical Education/Experience:

Associate (Level 2): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Experienced (Level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Senior (Level 4): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Summary pay range for associate level:

For Huntsville, Alabama: 85,000 – 115,000

For Fairfax, Virginia and Boston, Massachusetts: 90,950 – 123,050

Summary pay range for mid-level:

For Huntsville, Alabama: 104,550 – 141,450

For Fairfax, Virginia and Boston, Massachusetts: 112,200 – 151,800

Summary pay range for senior level:

For Huntsville, Alabama: 122,400 – 165,600

For Fairfax, Virginia and Boston, Massachusetts: 130,900 – 177,100

Export Control Requirements: U.S. Government Export Control Status: This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
