In response, Khan termed the video as “fake” and reported it to the Cyber Crime Cell of the Mumbai Police.
The footage used in Khan's video is Satyameva Jayatea television show he hosted nearly a decade ago.
Mumbai Police has launched an investigation into Khan's case.
Following Khan's complaint, the Mumbai Police registered an FIR in the deepfake AI video case against unidentified persons and started an investigation.
The FIR was registered under relevant IPC sections such as 419 (impersonation), 420 (cheating) and other relevant sections of the Information Technology Act.
