Using the app is deceptively simple:
Step 1. Create an account at NightCafe.
Step 2. Go to the Create page.
Step 3. Select your model from the list of available options and enter a brief description of the image you want.
Step 4. Click “Create” and wait for the results. If you are using a free account, this may take some time as free users have lower priority compared to premium subscribers.
That’s it. This tool allows you to choose the image resolution and the number of images to generate at once.
In particular, the AI doesn’t actually take prompts literally. Alternatively, “prompt magic” is also available, which uses AI to add details the user thinks they need (based on previous user creations). If you want to get the results you want from the start, you need to be more specific in your prompts.
You can also edit the image after it is generated.
Step 1. Go to your profile’s Works page and select an image.
Step 2. “Edit Prompt” mode allows you to give the AI textual instructions about what you want to change. The AI will try to detect the required features and edit accordingly.
Step 3. You can remove the background or upscale the image to a higher resolution using the aptly named buttons.
Step 4. To download an image, hover over the image, click Details, and select Download. Use “More” in the image instead of the bottom toolbar.
How does NightCafe AI work?
The platform includes many modern AI models such as Stable Diffusion, Seedream, Nano Banana, and Flux 2. This allows you to get a wide range of images, from the realistic designs of Flux.2, to the more cartoonish options of Nano Banana, to the “painterly” results of Seedream.
As far as quality is concerned, you will get almost the same results as using the model natively. The big advantage of this platform is that it collates them and streamlines the editor to the bare essentials, making it more approachable.

Apart from image creation, NightCafe AI has a dedicated AI video creation option. It comes with Veo 3, Grok, and Seedance AI models that form a strong foundation for your videos.
In particular, AI videos are only available if you have a premium subscription, regardless of your credit balance.
verdict
I have some complaints about this system.
- If you use a free account, images will be queued as they are generated. Even though there are not that many users at certain times of the day, there is still a slight delay. If the platform becomes even more popular (and expensive), free users may have to wait a while to get their images.
- This tool gives you the option to not publish your images on the platform for everyone to see (even if they are not searchable). However, you may miss out on some free credits and free advice.
- Since anyone can see and comment on your work (to take advantage of the gamification system to earn free credits), you may receive a large number of emails and notifications.
Similarly, the platform also lacks a monetization system for the photos you create or the option to export them in many file formats.
So it’s clear that NightCafe AI is aimed at a more casual audience that needs to use AI images for entertainment and generally non-commercial purposes.
However, thanks to a generous prize system, you can try out the AI model and get a solid image before trying out the actual functionality.
