The Department of the Army today launched an innovative artificial intelligence acceleration strategy that will extend our nation's lead in military AI deployment and establish America as the world's undisputed AI-enabled fighting force. This accelerated strategy, ordered by President Trump, will unleash experimentation, remove traditional bureaucratic impediments, and integrate the cutting edge of frontier AI capabilities across all mission areas, ushering in an unprecedented era of American military AI dominance.
“We are unleashing experimentation, eliminating bureaucratic barriers, focusing investment, and demonstrating the execution approach needed to secure a lead in military AI,” said Army Secretary Pete Hegseth. “We will be an 'AI-first' fighting force in every domain.”
The Department takes a wartime approach to delivering capabilities, focusing on three principles: warfighting, intelligence, and enterprise. This approach enhances battlefield decision-making, rapidly transforms intelligence data, and modernizes daily workflows, all with the direct support of more than 3 million DoW personnel.
Catalyzing this acceleration are seven Pace Setting Projects (PSPs), each with a responsible leader and an aggressive schedule. These PSPs establish new AI execution standards for the entire department.

- Ender's Foundry: Accelerate your AI-enabled simulation capabilities and sim-dev and sim-ops feedback loops to ensure you stay ahead of your AI-enabled adversaries.

- Open Arsenal: Accelerate your development pipeline from TechINT and turn information into weapons in hours instead of years.
- Project Grant: Enabling the transformation of deterrence from static posture and speculation to dynamic pressure, with interpretable results.

- GenAI.mil: Provides department-wide access to frontier-generated AI models, such as Google's Gemini and xAI's Grok, to all DoW personnel at intelligence level (IL-5) and above classification levels.
- Enterprise agents: Build playbooks for rapid and secure AI agent development and deployment to transform enterprise workflows.
This AI Acceleration Strategy is driving a significant expansion of AI computing infrastructure through targeted investments, unlocking access to data that provides an asymmetric advantage for the Department of the Army. Through initiatives such as the Office of Personnel Management's Tech Force initiative, the Department plans to bring in the nation's top AI talent and empower small, responsible teams to take on complex AI integration opportunities. The Department of the Army will eradicate woke DEI from our nation's AI capabilities and ensure our military has objective, mission-first systems that ensure decision superiority and combat superiority in this AI era.
