So, Firefly can be a one-stop shop for creating all the photos and videos that benefit from advanced AI tools. Adobe has expanded its list of AI partners for the Firefly app and released its iPhone and Android versions.
Adobe hosted a Max event in London a few weeks ago and announced several major updates to Firefly, including support for high-end third-party AI models and new Firefly board features designed to help teams collaborate on AI generation content.
Adobe also confirmed that the Firefly app for iPhone and Android will soon be coming on Max, but did not share the release date.
Fast forward to June 17th, Adobe has released the Firefly app for iPhone and Android. In addition to that, Adobe has announced the new Firefly Boards feature in addition to a new partnership with third-party Genai Services for generating and editing photos and videos.
What AI models are available on Firefly?
The Firefly app allows you to generate photos and videos using Adobe's proprietary model, also known as Firefly. But if you prefer something out of the competition, Firefly also gives you that option.
Here is the current list of partners, including the new AI model Adobe, announced on Tuesday.
- Image model: Black Forest Lab's Flux 1.1 Pro and Flux.1 Kontext; Ideographic 3.0; Google's Imagen 3 and Imagen 4; Openai's image generation model. Runway Gen-4 images

In the end, Idougram, Luma, Pika and Runway are new Adobe partners for Fireflies.
New Mobile App
The Firefly app for iPhone and Android is available for download now. This allows you to create AI content “inspired everywhere.”
The mobile app provides quick access to tools already available in the Desktop version of Firefly, including Generation Filling, Generation Extension, Text to Images, Text to Videos, Images to Videos, and more.
Creators can choose between Adobe's Firefly models or rely on third-party frontier AI from Google and Openai.
The Firefly Mobile app allows you to easily switch between mobile and desktop without interrupting your work by saving your creations in your Creative Cloud account.
Instead of going directly to Openai, Google, or other Genai tools, one of the great benefits of using the Firefly app is that it brings everything together in one place. This is especially useful when you have multiple content generation platforms for a single project.
That's exactly what Adobe is aiming for. “We have built a Firefly app that will become the ultimate one-stop shop for creative experiments. Here you can explore a variety of AI models, aesthetics and media types all in one place.” “All new partner models you add will make creators more flexible, allowing them to experiment, iterate and push ideas more.”
Adobe also addressed content safety and said that “durable 'nutrition labels'” will be attached to everything created in the Firefly app. This identifies whether the Firefly AI or partner model was used. However, it is unclear whether this label will be visibly marked.
You need an Adobe account and a plan to unlock all Firefly features. Access to third-party models is subscription dependent. In-app purchases include the Firefly Mobile Monthly Plan ($4.99) and the Firefly Mobile annual plan ($49.99).
New Firefly Board Features
Adobe also introduced new features in Firefly Boards, which debuted a few weeks ago.
Firefly Boards allows you to generate videos using your Adobe partner's Firefly video model or AI. You can also use the selected AI model to iteratively edit images.
This feature helps you organize your boards in just one click, so everything is ready for your presentation. Adobe Docs can also be linked to the board.
