CCD warns about new wave of AI propaganda videos on social media

AI Video & Visuals

The National Security and Defense Council’s Counterdisinformation Center (CCD) has documented a new wave of artificially generated videos promoting Russian propaganda narratives emerging on social media.

According to Ukrinform, the center reported this on Facebook.

These videos were created with the help of artificial intelligence and allegedly feature members of parliament, police officers, and Ukrainian military personnel.

As mentioned above, the generated characters are deliberately made to look satirically fat, promoting ideas aimed at dividing Ukrainian society under the guise of satire. Topics are made as sensitive as possible to incite hatred against the military, police and government officials.

“Thanks to AI technology, adversaries create such content on a large scale, often disguised as Ukrainian satirical or humorous content, but the real goal is to destabilize the country and undermine the morale of Ukrainian society,” the CCD said.

As reported by Ukrinform, Kremlin propagandists are spreading a fake video claiming that “80% of terrorist attacks in the past year were linked to Ukrainian refugees” in France, referring to the alleged British intelligence agency MI6.
