BAU students trained in drones and AI technology

Bhagalpur: A six-day drone technology bootcamp focusing on drone technology, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML) and modern agricultural applications concluded on Saturday at Bihar Agricultural University (BAU).The program was launched on May 18th at the Center for Agricultural Informatics and AI Research (CAIR) and was organized by BAU in collaboration with the Center for Advanced Computing Development (CDAC).The bootcamp aimed to introduce students to the latest technology in precision agriculture and give them hands-on experience with intelligent farming systems. A total of 43 students participated in the training program.Participants received practical training in drone operations, aerial surveying, mapping techniques, and agricultural applications of unmanned aerial systems.BAU Vice Chancellor DR Singh said the aim is to equip students by integrating AI, ML and drone systems in agricultural education.During the program, experts conducted sessions on drone architecture, flight control systems, sensors, aerial imagery, precision agriculture, and safety protocols.Particular focus was placed on AI and ML-based applications in crop health monitoring, disease detection, nutrient analysis, yield prediction, and weed identification for sustainable agricultural practices.The program was conducted by Project Director Mr. Anshuman Kohli and Project Coordinator Mr. CK Panda, and CDAC experts and scientists provided technical training and demonstrations.
