The Bahrain Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security Directorate has issued a warning against the misuse of personal photos and videos generated using artificial intelligence applications on social media platforms.
The authorities called on users to exercise responsibility and accuracy when publishing and sharing online content, stressing that legal action will be taken against violators.
According to the agency, positive and constructive online publishing should rely on using authentic personal photographs and authentic video clips, without additions or changes that change the reality or context.
The department urged social media users to consciously use modern technology in a way that enhances trust and maintains the integrity of content.

The warning comes amid increased global scrutiny of the use of artificial intelligence-generated media, particularly content that alters or manipulates images or videos of individuals.
The Directorate General for Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security said it would take legal action against those found to be violating regulations.
