AWE2026 hints at the future: A defining moment in the AI era

SHANGHAI, March 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — On March 15, the 2026 Appliances & Electronics World Expo (AWE2026) concluded after four dynamic days, bringing together more than 1,200 global companies and innovators to showcase AI-powered smart living. According to preliminary figures from AWE, visitor numbers increased by more than 30% year-on-year, making it the world’s largest consumer technology exhibition.

The main venue of the Shanghai New International Expo Center spans over 140,000 square meters and attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors looking for an immersive experience. At the Shanghai East Hub International Business Cooperation Zone venue, overseas attendees can enter the show without pre-registration or visas, allowing them to join the show immediately upon arrival.
With the theme “Smart AI, a smarter future,” AWE2026 featured leading companies showcasing how AI is transforming every aspect of smart living.
Haier and Dream each featured prominently with exhibits spanning an entire hall of over 10,000 square meters. Haier announced the upgraded AI Eye 2.0 and launched the Seeker lineup of L4 intelligent appliances, featuring three types of home service robots for cleaning, companionship, and household assistance. Dreame debuted flagship products such as a clothing folding robot, self-developed “Chixiao 01” mobile processor, and Nebula NEXT 01X, and introduced a full-range ecosystem covering smart home appliances, smartphones, automobiles, aerospace exploration, energy management, and computing power.
In the smart home space, brands such as Haier, Huawei, Hisense, Siemens, and Panasonic highlighted deeply integrated AI products, marking a shift from passive home appliances to appliances that provide active services.
Home service robots have emerged as a big draw, with companies such as Haier, Hisense, TCL, Fotile, Roborock, MOVA, Ecovacs and Dreamy introducing everything from companion robots and robot kitchens to wheeled and flying vacuums, taking hands-free living to a new level.
Embodied AI has also gained attention. Companies such as Unitree, Agibot, MagicLab, Tesla, DEEP Robotics, ULS Robotics, Tars, Zeroth, and Genisom AI showcased robots capable of performing complex tasks, from boxing and embroidery to uncapping bottles, demonstrating rapid advances in perception and motion control.
In the smart terminal field, brands such as Huawei, Dream, BOE, Aridge, BYD, Tesla, Vertaxi, NAVEE, Segway-Ninebot, and Sky Motor exhibited next-generation solutions such as electric vehicles, seaplanes, flying cars, and smart two-wheelers. Meanwhile, companies such as Qwen, XREAL, Lenovo, ZTE, Insta360, TCL RayNeo, Robam, Shokz, Rokid, and Orka Tech announced the latest wave of AI-powered devices, from smart glasses and smartphones to PCs, earphones, and action cameras.
Beyond devices, AWE2026 spotlighted chip and computing breakthroughs from Intel, Lisuan Tech, MiniMax, Dream, Ugreen, and Moore Threads, next-generation display technologies from Sony, Hisense, TCL, LG, Changhong, and Skyworth, and brain-computer interface innovations from BrainCo, Stonehill, and others focused on advances in human-machine integration.
