Ashdod Port Company has invested USD 650,000 in Israeli startup Azimut.ai and recently completed a successful proof of concept (POC) in the port. Marine Technology Hub (Blue Ocean CVC).

The pilot demonstrated the capabilities of Azimut.ai’s AI-driven maritime situational awareness platform, Albatross, to detect, classify and track vessels in real-time, even when traditional systems such as radar and AIS are down. This capability represents a significant advancement in operational visibility and maritime safety.

Designed to evaluate state-of-the-art solutions in real-world operational conditions, the Maritime Technology Hub has enabled the Albatross system to move from a pilot to a fully operational tool that is already delivering measurable value.

This investment in the port will support Azimut.ai’s expansion within Israel and internationally, reinforcing Ashdod Port’s strategic goal of turning innovation into a practical tool that strengthens safety, efficiency, and Israel’s position as a leader in smart port technology.

Following the success of the POC, the Albatross system is now being deployed at multiple sites including ports, marine infrastructure facilities, and organizations in the environmental and security sectors.
