With the onslaught of so-called “generated AI,” Silicon Valley's complex prediction algorithm terminology can be used to create new content based on the vast amount of material gathered without the creator's permission. Job hunting has become a genuine gauntlet of fake employment lists, automated application bots, and computer-generated interviews.
It's only been more than two years since consumers first acquired ChatGpt, a widely available AI model, but the technology has already caused devastating harm to the digital job market.

Access to AI makes it extremely easy for legitimate applicants and scammers to spam employers using their resumes. It stands out as a purely human applicant – this was already difficult before AI – a Sisifean task.

However, the problem did not begin with job seekers. This issue can be traced back to the large-scale adoption of AI HR bots, with 99% of Fortune 500 companies admitting to using AI, and 40% expecting to use AI to conduct interviews.
And as job seekers turn their eyes to AI and level the arena, companies hold almost all of the power in the labour market, they are creating levers to dump more AI on the issue. Employers now unlock AI, verify applicant identity, manage computer-generated, skilled ratings, and provide applicants with auto-generated messages.
When appropriate, LinkedIn unlocks what is called “AI Agents” and helps HR managers keep up with the flood of AI-assisted recruitment applications.
It is a labor armed race to the bottom, and until regulations like the EU regulations on artificial intelligence become universal, applicants who are not techno-savvy in funds, resources and techno-savvy will lose.
