The video was originally shared on Twitter by a page named “Sharing Travel”. Since posting, it has received over 2.3 million views and 18,000 likes. The post’s caption read, “Crazy machine chef. I’m hungry.” In this clip, we saw a machine frying vegetables and a wok frying vegetables. For those unfamiliar, this is a very common cooking technique that involves sautéing vegetables quickly at high temperatures to keep them crisp. Normally, I’ve seen human chefs do this with a great deal of effort and skill. But thanks to this robotic technology, it’s now easier to manage with minimal fuss. Thanks to Machine Chef, we were able to speed up the process of throwing the wok many times over as well.
Machine Chef’s video was inundated with thousands of comments and reactions. A user asked, “Is this the future of the catering industry?” On the other hand, another reaction was, “When machines cook for us, everyone will have their own Kansama!” Some thought it would give great results that could never be made. One user commented, “You can imagine how perfect this stir fry is.”
