Massachusetts General Brigham, based in Somerville, Massachusetts, has been testing generative artificial intelligence for patient portal messages and clinical notes and has used the technology to create videos.
Just as other health systems have integrated technologies like ChatGPT into their EHRs and drafted marketing content, General Brigham is also on a large scale, according to Adam Landman, M.D., head of innovation for the health system. He finds many possibilities in the language model.

Mass General Brigham has categorized and drafted the In Basket message for Epic’s MyChart patient portal and explored its use to generate clinical notes from patient visit records. The medical system also provided scripts to generative AI, which then had it create videos featuring avatars promoting new desktop technology for clinicians.
