A video circulating on social media purports to show a young woman firing at a man who allegedly harassed him on a street in Lahore, forcing him to flee. The clip was widely shared as real surveillance footage, with users praising the woman’s actions as an act of self-defense.
That claim is false. This video is not real and was generated using artificial intelligence (AI) tools.
Claim
On June 29, a user on X, formerly known as Twitter, shared a 10-second video claiming to show surveillance camera footage of a young woman in Lahore pointing a gun at a harassing suspect on a motorbike, forcing him to flee.
A user captioned the video as saying, “In Lahore, a brave girl instantly fired a bullet at a young man who was harassing her on the street. She refused to become a victim and stood her ground. Self-defense is not a crime.”
The footage is timestamped with June 28, 2026, giving the impression that it is genuine CCTV footage of the actual incident.
As of this writing, the post has been viewed more than 70,800 times, received 456 likes, and been reposted 119 times.
Similar claims were also shared on Facebook and Instagram.

No such incident has been reported in Lahore. Independently verified by Checking geographical factsalong with confirmations from the Punjab Police and AI detection tools, indicate that the video was generated using artificial intelligence.
Mubasir Hussain, Director of Public Relations, Punjab Police, confirmed this. Checking geographical facts Via the message that the video was “100% created by AI tools.”
Another police official, who requested anonymity as he was not authorized to speak publicly, also confirmed that the footage was not authentic and did not depict the actual incident in Lahore.
The police officer said, “There is a high possibility that the video was generated by AI.No such incident has been reported so far.”
Checking geographical facts We also analyzed the videos using Hive Moderation, an AI content detection platform. The platform assigned a total score of 64%. This indicates that the video is likely AI.
The clip was further examined using DeepFake-O-Meter, a detection platform developed by the Media Forensics Laboratory at the University at Buffalo. The platform assessed that the video was likely generated by AI.
verdict: This video does not depict the actual incident in Lahore. Punjab Police confirmed that no such incident was reported and said the footage was created using AI tools.
