AI-generated video of Iran’s ‘B-2 style drone’ goes viral with false claims

AI Video & Visuals

A viral video that claims to show a new Iranian drone that mimics a B-2 bomber is fake. It was created using AI tools and does not represent actual military assets.

New Delhi (Vishwas News). A video clip of a stealth aircraft emerging from a cave is going viral on social media as the conflict involving the US, Israel and Iran continues. Users claim that Iran has deployed a new drone similar to the American B-2 Spirit stealth bomber.

However, an investigation by Vishwas News revealed that the video was generated by AI. Although the US has used real B-2 stealth bombers in recent attacks on Iranian targets, this particular “Iranian drone” footage was fabricated.

What is a viral post?

X user “Muslim_Voice_Space” posted a video (archive link) on March 3, 2026, claiming that Iran has deployed drones like B-2 bombers for the war.

investigation

To verify the viral claim, we first carefully reviewed the video and found glaring technical discrepancies. At the beginning of the clip, the aircraft’s wings appear to pass through or collide with the cave wall without sustaining damage or affecting its flight path. This is a common “clipping” error in AI-generated videos.

Using Google Lens and an ExpressVPN connection, I tracked the video to the TikTok profile “mortlib.hussain.” It was uploaded six days ago without specific technical details and was watermarked as “barland3.”

Based on this, I searched for the ID “barland3”. This yielded the ID “barland3 Official King of Iran” (archive link). No video posts were found for this account, but similar video clips were reposted. Most AI videos are reposted from this account.

We identified “barland3” IDs using hashtags such as #IranProtests and #FreeIran. Cache files from Yandex suggest that the account had previously posted similar clips, but many have since been deleted. This account primarily shares stylized, AI-enhanced content.

Several forensic tools were utilized to confirm the nature of the video.

The Hive moderation tool flagged the video as likely being generated by AI.

To confirm further, we shared the video with our partner Deepfakes Analysis Unit (DAU), an initiative of the Trusted Information Alliance (TIA). The team checked screenshots of the video with Image Whisperer and found that it was likely AI-generated.

Another tool, SightEngine, assessed the video as having a 75% chance of being generated by AI and specifically noted that it had a 70% chance of being created using OpenAI’s Sora model.

This makes it clear that the viral video was created by AI.

What is the background?

According to a report posted on the Reuters website on March 1, 2026, “On February 28, 2026, the United States engaged in hostilities for the first time, launching a variety of weapons against Iranian targets, including Tomahawk cruise missiles, stealth fighter jets, and single-barreled attack drones built based on Iranian designs. U.S. Central Command released images and details of Tomahawk missiles, F-18, and F-35 fighter jets.” Attack on Iran by “Operation Epic Fury.”

B-2 stealth bomber!

According to the report, “The United States deployed the B-2 stealth bomber to attack Iran’s underground missile facilities with 2,000 pounds of bombs. The $2 billion B-2 flying wing, manufactured by Northrop Grumman (NOC.N), played a key role in the attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities in June 2025. The B-2 can fly up to 6,000 nautical miles without refueling.”

According to an update on the BBC website on March 5, 2026: “On the sixth day of the Middle East (West Asia) war, Israel and Iran launched new attacks. Israel attacked Lebanon and Iran. Iranian attacks were also reported in Israel. Tel Aviv Air raid sirens were sounded in Jerusalem and explosions were seen in the sky as they repelled the attack. Explosions were also reported in Qatar and Bahrain.”Azerbaijan said it had been attacked by two Iranian drones, and Iran said it had attacked a US ship.
